Ruff Wear Harness

I just got word that the rescue I belong to, Coastal German Shepherd Rescue, ordered me a Ruff Wear Harness, I can’t wait to get it, when I do get it I will make sure to post photos, because all the other dogs on Tripawds website look sooo cool in their harnesses, I know I am going to rock the harness as well! I will have to make sure my foster mom watches the how to put it on video, she can be pretty retarded about stuff like that!

Hannah is a 7 mos old purebred Plush Coated German Shepherd Dog. Hannah was turned over to Coastal when she was a 4 mos old puppy. She was born with a defective left rear leg, it was straight, but it was straight underneath her so she couldn't use it, it just interfered with her ability to get around, due to the fact that she was hindered in her ability to get around whoever had her before Coastal did not feed her properly so her bones didn't develop properly and her right leg has some orthopedic issues, but Coastal works with the best vets around and Hannah's orthopedic doctor has NO doubt at all that once she has her surgery(ies) she will live a long and happy life! Hannah has lived in a foster home since Coastal took her under their wing and has thrived. In February she had the left rear leg amputated and is healing up beautifully and making up for lost time, full of puppy life and vigor. She is now getting the proper nutrition that every puppy deserves.

  1. That’s awesome! A friend of mine from Bone Cancer Dogs volunteers at the same rescue! Do you know Nicole T.? One of the rescues last year that was a tripawd from OS was adopted by another person from BCD and flown to PA to his forever home.

    1. Yes we do know Nicole, Nicole took care of me for a couple days after my amputation surgery because my foster mom couldn’t come get me. Nicole is fabulous and my foster mom relied on her a lot during my healing, since Nicole had experience with amputation surgery from fostering Lance until he could make his plane to his forever home in PA. I wasn’t born yet when Lance came into the rescue, but I am glad that Coastal was not afraid to take a dog like me under their wing because I so deserved this second chance I have been given!

  2. Pieter, our Bernese, is quite happy to have his harness on. In time he will realise it is for outings mainly, and then he will start the “get my lead on if you can!” game. i carefully watched the video, but he quite happily stuck his head straight in!

  3. I’m sure your mom will do just fine helping you try on your new duds and rocking them awesomely! As for posting a video, many folks here can help you.

A tiny little suggestion, if it won’t rock the boat too much: Please be careful with that “R” word, Hannah. Those of us here with children who are not garden-variety typical cringe when we hear it. Kind of like how you cringe at the 4th of July when the fireworks go off.

Do show us your lovely photos. I don’t know what color you got, but you would be smashing in red or elegant in black. Either way, you’ll be beautiful!
