Looking for a Forever Home is hard work

I got to attend my first ever adoption event with Coastal German Shepherd Rescue, yesterday! Holy Smokes it was overwhelming, but my foster mom could not have been more proud of me…She says I have made great strides in my socialization. Not to mention I was a big hit, everyone wanted to pet me. I think some of the dogs were jealous of me because I am so beautiful, and they yelled at me and I yelled right back! =) I got to meet so many really neat people, but no leads on my forever home yet. I was so tired when I got back home, I didn’t even have the energy to wrestle with my foster brother and sister! I think they were relieved! =) I was still tired this morning and my foster mom would only take me on a really short walk. Since my foster mom is back at work today, I am going to take this day to rest and get my energy back for when she gets home tonight! This photo is of me and my blind friend Rocky, two special needs dogs who are just special!

Hannah is a 7 mos old purebred Plush Coated German Shepherd Dog. Hannah was turned over to Coastal when she was a 4 mos old puppy. She was born with a defective left rear leg, it was straight, but it was straight underneath her so she couldn't use it, it just interfered with her ability to get around, due to the fact that she was hindered in her ability to get around whoever had her before Coastal did not feed her properly so her bones didn't develop properly and her right leg has some orthopedic issues, but Coastal works with the best vets around and Hannah's orthopedic doctor has NO doubt at all that once she has her surgery(ies) she will live a long and happy life! Hannah has lived in a foster home since Coastal took her under their wing and has thrived. In February she had the left rear leg amputated and is healing up beautifully and making up for lost time, full of puppy life and vigor. She is now getting the proper nutrition that every puppy deserves.

  1. You are beautiful and don’t worry, it may be hard work but when your new forever family finally finds you, it will be wonderful. I have a friend that I showed your pics and blog to and she said if she had room for just one more she would do whatever she could to become your forever pawrent.
Hang in there, the right family is just around the corner.
Glad you have a chance to rest up today.
    Take care,
    Tina and Boomer

    1. Thank you Tina and Boomer, I do believe networking saves lives, so while your friend may not be able to adopt me, maybe one of your other friends or one of her friends…one never knows…so thank you for sharing my story that is what it is all about! I do truly love Boomer, my foster mom loves shepherds like me and golden retrievers, her two favorite breeds, so i live with a golden retriever right now and she is my friend and we wrestle!

  2. I would love for you to find your forever home in Kansas City. So we are trying to find you a home here. I know my friend has the word out looking for a forever home for you alos. She is involved with MOGS, a German Shepherd rescue group. We used to have a shepherd, Chuck. He crossed over to the bridge about 20 months ago, he was 14 years old and we still miss him very much.

    1. Sorry to hear about Chuck, love the name for a Shepherd though! Nothing goes better together than a Shepherd and a Golden, it’s like peanut butter and jelly! Not sure what it is about the two breeds I think it is the ying and the yang, they are both so different that they compliment each other! Thank you very much for networking me Tina and Boomer…have you visited my facebook page? http://www.facebook.com/HelpHannahFindHerForeverHome stop by and visit and bring all your friends! =)

  3. don’t get discouraged. your forever family is out there, and you will, YOU WILL find them. hopefully your beautiful friend rocky will also find his family soon. take a medicinal nap and dream of how wonderful it will be, and it will happen!!

  4. Hey Hannah, you are SO pretty I know all the girldogs are jealous, that’s why they bark at you!

My Momma sez she wishes that you and Rocky could come live with us. I do too. Sheppies are the BEST!
